Worn kingpins contribute significantly to tyre wear – an enormous expense for any commercial vehicle owner.  Having done the research it was evident that kingpins replaced in the conventional manner (removing the axle and sending it for machining), results in a fair amount of downtime (between 2 and 5 days).  Our service offering is unique as we are able to replace kingpins in an average time of 4 to 5 hours.  This shortens the downtime period by at least 300%.  All repairs are performed with specialized equipment to ensure maximum efficiency.

About Us

Get to know us

In 2005 Ivan Lewis started Mobile Kingpin Repairs.  Ivan spotted a gap in the market for the in-place overhaul of truck and bus kingpins and suspensions.  He is a qualified Diesel Mechanic who completed his apprenticeship with Mercedes Benz and has been involved with commercial vehicle maintenance since 1987.

In 2011 Byron Lewis joined the business.  He is a qualified Petrol Mechanic, having served his apprenticeship with Jaguar.

In 2023 the expansion of our service offering and client demand necessitated our move to a 5 Star rated workhop in Hughes, Boksburg.

We are proud of our ability to serve small, medium-sized and large players in the transportation sector, including but not limited to dealerships across various brands i.e Mercedes Benz, MAN, Isuzu, Shacman, Tata etc
